Less than an hour from Baton Rouge, the restaurant was busy on a Friday night but we were able to make reservations for 7 people a few days ahead with no problem. We had a couple of orders of Mama's bread for the table which came with seasoned olive oil for dipping. I had the jalapeno grits with grillades as my meal and it was fantastic! The grits were just the right amount of spicy and the grillades were incredibly tender with an amazing gravy. The restaurant was a bit crowded, we were bumping chairs with people at adjacent tables, but the service was great and the old building has lots of character.

Ma Mama’s is a gem of a family restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is out of this world. Our appetizers included the crawfish balls with homemade pepper jelly, stuffed mushrooms, and the roasted cauliflower. Let’s not forget the mounds of delicious bread and dipping sauce. Our table of 7 tried a variety of entrees. My fish was perfect as was the pork shank. Desserts are a must here - Ms. Kim is a phenomenal baker. Best key lime pie ever. Come sit at the cozy bar or make reservations for a table and enjoy the best evening.

First off, be sure to make a reservation if you're planning to dine in for dinner on a weekend! Luckily the bar was not reserved and we were readily seated. The place was busy and the staff was flooded, but the bartender was amazing in every way. A place like this is where you go to for everything that is fine Louisiana dining. If you want Italian or whatnot, go to an Italian restaurant you negative reviewers! I myself has the Seafood Au Gratun and work partner had the Shrimp & Grits - Both were absolutely spectacular!

Pleasantly surprised at how delicious & reasonably priced the filet was! Perfectly cooked, delicious baked potato, savory sautéed mushrooms & smooth Cloudline Pinot Noir. Molly was our server and she was impeccable — knowledgeable about the menu, accommodating, and she knew about food allergies and which foods were acceptable for celiac. She was so sweet and smiled the entire time — I served for 15 years of my life so I especially appreciated the quality of her service. 10/10 highly recommend this place — I actually Enjoyed it more than Ruth’s Chris to be honest!

My only regret was eating two poboys and leaving 0 room for their amazing looking deserts. The ladies working the lunch hour were super friendly and fun. The buns on the poboys were so delicious. If I'm ever in the area again, I will drive out of my way to come back here.

This was my first time here and I was with my company. The atmosphere here was really good and all of the staff was friendly. I got the prime rib with loaded baked potato and it was absolutely delicious!! I could easily say this has been my best one I have ever had and I travel all over the states. We also had some crawfish balls as an appetizer. They were cooked to perfection and had so much flavor in them. Our team for many different things and not a single person had an issue with their meals. I would highly recommend you making a visit here. You will not regret it at all.
